About the event
Utah Pioneer Day commemorates the arrival of Brigham Young and the first vanguard of Mormon pioneers into the Salt Lake Valley in 1847. Today, the official state holiday honors the resilience and heritage of all early settlers who built the state, including Native American communities and various immigrant groups.
